Angelina Jolie is an amazing actress, no doubt, but is she really the perfect Cleopatra?
Angelina Jolie As the Queen of the Nile? Is Hollywood in Denial? The Following List of Actresses Would Be Better Suited for the Role
I’m a huge Angelina Jolie fan, have been for a very long time, and probably will be for some time to come. That being said, I think there are a BEVY of other beautiful and talented actresses who could portray Cleopatra Queen far better. Word on the street is this movie is based on the book Cleopatra: A Life written by Pulitzer-prize winner Stacy Schiff. I haven’t read it yet (and you haven’t either) because it isn’t even available until November 2010. Perhaps it will follow the belief that Cleopatra is descended from the Greek Macedonian, Ptolemy Soter, of the Ptolemy dynasty, and friend to Alexander the Great.
Imagine for a moment that this movie could be the very first Cleopatra biopic made by a major studio where an ethnic looking actress stars as the iconic, legendary and almost mythical Cleopatra. I have here a list of five actresses that I feel would be a better fit for the part. With one of these five actresses on board, all it would need is a stellar script and I could see this movie becoming a Hollywood blockbuster! [Read more...]
Hot designer sandals by Modzori may make movie magic yet.
Where can I get my hands on those shoes?
Sometime in movies it can be all about the fashion. The Sex and the City movies just wouldn’t be the same without the fashion. In fact, the fashion is a large part of that movie, and the clothes, it can be argued, can be considered a character just like New York itself can be considered a character in the movie.
Movies can have a HUGE influence on our fashion choices. Fashion and movies are indelibly linked and sometimes seeing an outfit, a purse or a shoe can cause a huge stir and the next thing you know, that wardrobe item seen in the movie is the next big thing. Clothing is vital to any movie and can convey emotions, time period, setting, the personality of a character, and can be the necessary ingredient that makes a good movie great.
Where can you get your hands on these babies?
In my travels I came across these really cool convertible sandals by Modzori and I automatically thought that these would be the perfect set of designer shoes to add style to any movie wardrobe. If these shoes appeared in a movie, I wouldn’t be surprised if they started a whole new trend. And with summer right around the corner, I bet it won’t be long before we see these sexy shoes on some celebrity feet.
What do you think of these sandals? Which celebrity do you think we’ll see these sandals on first?
Do you remember this song? When I first heard it I fell in love with it. It was so odd yet sad and poignant and encapsulated Gollum so perfectly. Peter Jackson has good taste in music. He’s also one of my favorite directors. What do you think about this song? What is your favorite Peter Jackson movie?
Oh, the lovely nostalgia of it all! I was youngish when I saw Romeo + Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes as the famously starcrossed lovers. Not only was that a very clever movie — kids loved the modern twist to a piece of classic literature, and having Leo DiCaprio in it didn’t hurt either! — but it also had a rockin’ soundtrack. “Kissing You” is one of my favorites from the soundtrack. But so was “#1 Crush” by Garbage, “Love Fool” by The Cardigans, “Pretty Piece of Flesh” by One Inch Punch — oh heck, it was all good!
Here’s the Romeo + Juliet track list. Which was your favorite song?
1. “#1 Crush” – Garbage – 4:47
2. “Local God” – Everclear – 3:56
3. “Angel” – Gavin Friday – 4:19
