Hello Truebies! Has the #TBwithdrawal started to sink in yet? #WaitingSucks as usual and we have a loooong way to go before season 5 hits the tube so I thought I’d entertain you with a little True Bloodfix and a dash of Alexander Skarsgard.
If you are in the US you have probably already seen this, though I doubt you’ll mind watching this again! For my Canadian readers this is a little treat for you since you may not have had the chance to see it. It’s a micro interview with ASkars himself talking a little bit about Eric and True Bloodseason 5.
Then we move on to a segment with the Swede who is being interviewed by Extra’s Maria Menounos (lucky girl!) about his role in the movie Straw Dogs which is in theaters now. It’s a role that is very different from anything I’ve seen him in and it’s a movie that is controversial in many ways.
Lastly we have a clip from SideReel with a little True Blood news. Seems Skarsgard’s dad the venerable Stellan Skarsgard was invited for a stint on the hit HBO vampire show. Did he accept? Find out in the video below!
I think this is just the most hilarious and outlandish new reality TV show. H8R is a new show on the CW where celebrities try to change the minds of people who hate them. Simple. It’s like watching a train wreck but it’s funny. So here are the celebs that have been on the show so far. What’s your opinion of them? Do you love ‘em or hate ‘em and could they change your mind if they had the chance?
Another Emmys award show has come and gone once again and it was of course a star studded event. Downton Abbey shone, Modern Family cleaned house and Game of Thrones and Mildred Pierce made HBO proud. It was TV’s big night and the stars hit the red carpet and then celebrated into the wee hours of the morning. it was quite the night.
Can you believe True Blood was shutout? Sacrilege!

Our favorite Imp took home TV gold last night during the 2011 Emmys for his role as Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones. The award was in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category and is Peter Dinklage’s first Emmy Award.
The diminutive actor certainly didn’t expect to win, and he was up against some talented competition, but Dinklage is certainly deserving of the golden statuette. His performance as the despised, cunning and witty third Lannister child and son of Tywin Lannister is brilliant and memorable and definitely one of my unexpected favorites on the show. Despite Dinklage’s size (he is only 4’5″) his character is larger than life and infused with tons of charm, confidence and joie de vive.
“I think everybody levitated when Peter Dinklage won supporting actor,” Martin told The Hollywood Reporter. “We were hoping for that but you never know how these things are going to come out. Tyrion has always been my favorite character in the series – though I love them all. Peter has embodied it so marvelously. It was an incredible win for Peter and the show.”
Game of Thrones is based on the bestselling fantasy series A Song of Fire and Ice written by George R.R. Martin. The series was adapted and developed for HBO by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The popluar fantasy already had a remarkable fan base so it’s debut on April 17th, 2011 was highly anticipated and embraced by critics and fans alike. The first season finale was spellbinding and surpassed expectations bringing a spotlight to a strong cast and actors whose names were not well known before the series. Thankfully Game of Thrones has been picked up for a second season (2 days after it premiered BTW!) so we’ll get to see a lot more of Tyrion and the fantasy world he lives in.
Check out Peter Dinklage’s funny and sweet acceptance speech below!
This one actually blew me away. I thought I knew what Eva Longoria looked like. Now I realize that I only know what she looks like after the airbrush. It’s another example of how media dictates what standards of beauty should be, and that not even the most beautiful women in the world are good enough as is.
Airbrushing is no longer an after thought. Instead it is mandatory, a necessity, an absolute must! As mere mortals how can we, the general public, dare to compete or compare ourselves with these images? These severely photoshopped pictures should come with a warning label: not a genuine representation.
If we looked at pictures like these as art instead of how we should perceive ourselves in real life, then we could appreciate them for what they really are — make believe.
Which picture do you like better? Were you as shocked as I was with results of the airbrushing? Do you think the airbrushing was necessary?
